SALES & DISTRIBUTION

Offline field sales starts with clear synchronization rules.

What to define when connecting mobile sales teams to the back office and ERP.

Define what the representative needs in the field

List the customer information, product catalogue, prices and transaction types required during a visit. Agree which information should be available offline and which activities depend on an online business-system response.

Separate capture from business confirmation

An order recorded on a mobile device and an order accepted by the ERP are distinct events. The workflow should make the transaction status clear to the user and define how rejected or incomplete records are followed up.

Plan updates in both directions

Consider how new customers, changed prices, product updates, orders, returns and collections move between systems. Decide when changes become available, which system owns the data and what happens if a transfer needs to be retried.

Test the end of the working day

A pilot should cover a complete working cycle: preparing the route, visiting customers, capturing activity, reconnecting and reviewing the results in the office. Include interrupted connectivity and business-rule exceptions in the test.
