Start with the movement of goods
Document what happens from receiving to dispatch. Identify where an operator scans an item, selects a location, records a quantity or confirms a handover. A warehouse project works best when the digital transaction reflects the physical task.
Agree which system owns each record
For items, locations, units of measure and stock transactions, decide which information comes from the ERP and which information is captured in the warehouse. Confirm how a transaction is validated, posted and corrected when a discrepancy occurs.
Define the exceptions before the rollout
Review damaged goods, short deliveries, unreadable identifiers, quantity differences and unavailable connectivity. Each exception needs a clear operator action and an office follow-up path. Include these situations in user acceptance testing.
Test a representative operation
Select a focused workflow and representative items, locations and users. Test the mobile application with the intended devices and ERP interface. Record the issues, adjust the configuration and agree the acceptance criteria before expanding the rollout.
